Dr. Candace Lopez (DACM, LAc, FABORM, MS, MA) is a California licensed, Nationally Accredited Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) and Fellow of the Acupuncture and TCM Board of Reproductive Medicine (FABORM) located in Seal Beach, CA.
I began my theme of working with bodies as a NASM personal trainer in 2003, moving into corrective exercise, and then Structural Integration massage and bodywork soon after. I then received two degrees (BA, MA) in Anthropology specializing in Medical Anthropology from CSULB. My master´s thesis was an ethnographic study of fertility acupuncturists and patient interactions in Los Angeles. These two academic degrees were then followed by two additional degrees (MSTOM, DACM) in Traditional Chinese Medicine encompassing integrative medicine and clinical care, then followed by a postdoctoral fellowship ceritification by ABORM, the Acupuncture and TCM Board of Reproductive Medicine.
My clinical training was in Los Angeles, beginning at Yo San University in Los Angeles and completed at Emperor´s College. My clinical hours were completed at Venice Family Clinic, assisting in longitudinal pain research and management partnered with UCLA Health and David Geffen School of Medicine and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
My doctorate in Integrative Medicine and Chinese Medicine was granted by Pacific College. Postdoc studies in reproductive health including reproductive strategies, IVF assistance, and reproductive health were with Laura Erlich, LAc, and Dr Randine Lewis, PhD, LAc.
During this clinical work, I also became a Reiki Master in both Usui Reiki and Kundalini Reiki.
I encourage patient participation in their own healing, becuase what patients do can trend to health or not, really. My current health issues led me to also found Urban Salt Community Acupuncture Clinic, Long Beach CA’s only 501c3 acupuncture clinic and educaiton center, accessible at urbansalt.org
As a combat veteran and doctor, I am also interested in chemical exposure effects, chronic pain conditions, autoimmune disorders, insomnia, psychological concerns, and metabolic impairment.
